Julia Walden began dancing at the age of three at Infinity Ballet Conservatory under the direction of Debra Sayles Senchak. Here, Julia trained extensively in classical ballet and contemporary dance for fifteen years. She performed many roles such as Cinderella, Princess Florine, and the Sugar Plum Fairy.

Julia attended summer intensives at American Ballet Theatre, Carolina Ballet, Richmond Ballet, and Sarasota Ballet. She spent two seasons completing the trainee program with the Sarasota Ballet, where she performed many classical and neoclassical works.

Julia joined Ballet Theatre of Maryland as an Apprentice in 2022. She was promoted to the Corps de Ballet in 2023 and to Demi-Soloist in 2024. At the Ballet Theatre of Maryland, Julia has performed as lead Mirliton in The Nutcracker, lead naiad in Napoli, the Chrystal Fountain fairy in The Sleeping Beauty, and many other corps de ballet and demi-soloist roles.

Julia has taught dancers of all ages in ballet, pointe, modern, contemporary, and jazz dance. She is so glad to be able to spread the joy of dance through performing and teaching the next generation.
