At Infinity Ballet we love to teach our dancers to move to the beat. There is nothing better than learning rhythm than America’s national tap dance. In our lessons we begin teaching simple tap movements as young as preschool ages to help dancers with coordination of finding the beat and musical patterns.
Styles of Tap:
Classic Tap: – Classical “tappers” use their arms and upper bodies to blend movements of ballet or jazz into their tap routines.
Hoofers: – “Hoofers” try to use every part of their shoes to make their feet sound like drums.
Infinity Ballet Tap Classes:
Whether you are considering Tap Dance for exercise or would like to perform in a show we have the expertise to help you achieve your goals. As with all our classes we not only teach the steps but we also teach the art behind the movements. This is an important element to understanding the history of tap dance and the beauty it inspires.
Tap Dance Shoe:
Tap shoes are available in several different styles. Some dancers prefer flat shoes while some feel more comfortable with a heel. The most popular colors for tap shoes are black and beige. Check with the class requirement prior to choosing the shoe for your lessons. The shoes should fit well and be comfortable, not super tight but also so the heel is not loose on the foot. The taps should be the same width as the toes of the shoe.
